Thank you for taking the time to read my profile, as my headline states, I am open to questions from listeners and members, especially if they are related to safety and group support. I am likely unavailable to provide any further 1-1 support to members beyond general or specific questions due to being rather busy across the site, and in external employment and studies. Alongside studies and 7 Cups, I focus on rehabilitating and managing offenders of serious crime including sexual violence and child abuse, to reduce reoffending and further potential or repeat victim/survivors. I also provide various extents of support, within a medical setting, to that those I care for. To remain clear, I can’t provide professional or medical advice on 7 Cups and act strictly in a voluntary capacity, please read the note below this. 

 If you are a fellow safety team member or part of safety patrol reading this, as I have stated clearly I cannot provide medical or professional advice despite mentioning my experience, my profile is aligned with profile guidelines and therefore does not require flagging or outreach. Those who I reach out to regarding profile violations, if you read this, to be clear, it is okay to include experience within profile bio’s, even that suggest advanced professionalism or knowledge relating to mental health, *if* you include a statement saying you cannot give professional advice. This does not apply to crisis line professions or volunteering however and that cannot be stated regardless. 

I am most specialised as a volunteer within supporting those recovering from self harm and alcohol or drug abuse, as well as those who have experienced childhood trauma or suffered sexual violence. 

I have direct lived experience with peer violence, drug and alcohol abuse, self-harm, depression, PTSD, childhood sexual abuse, sexual violence, derealisation/depersonalisation, emotional dysregulation, addiction, breakups, domestic violence, family stress, relationship stress, work stress and student life and a couple others I’m not able to support you with so won’t mention.

...See more Hey everyone!  We are experiencing difficulties getting the word out that people can get rewarded, feedback and recognition for spending time, script-free and naturally, supporting members in Support Room 24/7 by just tracking their time.  Therefore, we’re looking for a project agent to help recruit more people and spread awareness of the project. The project agent would be tasked with spending time in Support Room 24/7 and identifying those who spend at least 30 minutes there helping others. Then, they’d contact them and let them know about the opportunity. Finally, they’d be asked to keep a recruitment record updated within our leadership spreadsheet, so we know who has already been contacted.  The quota will be contacting (and recording on the spreadsheet) at least 10 listeners or members per month to maintain the leadership role, but this can be negotiated if you’re finding it tricky to stick to.  If you are interested, or even just spend some time in our support rooms, please do send me a message [http://7cups.com/@kieran000] or add a comment to this thread for more information.

Military and First Responder Trauma Support Group

...See more Hi everyone,  I’m excited to announce the new launch of a Military and First Responder Trauma Support Group following wider community feedback requesting this support space.  The first session will take place on Sunday 9th February in the trauma support room on the adult side from 2:00pm to 3:00pm (2:55pm) ET and will provide a space for active or veteran military service members, emergency medical staff and law enforcement officers to share their experiences of trauma.  The timing is a little difficult at the moment as my availability for this weekend is extremely low and I’m not sure about the expected activity levels depending on times it takes place but hopefully this will provide enough time to have lots of thoughts shared and listened to, as well as the opportunity to suggest your own preferred times for future sessions possibly through a google forms document that will be sent out at the end of the session.  Hope to see many of you there! @Nick003 @SleeplessVet

...See more (Please scroll down thread for updated posts) December 2024 Hello everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful past week, whether you’re celebrating Christmas or not.  Today we’re thanking the Always Here hosts that have been a supportive presence in the Support Rooms this month.  We had 3 listeners and 1 member join the team with @AGentleGlow supporting for nearly 10 hours. Glow will be awarded 575 cheers for their time. Secondly, @Macylou82 recorded their hour and a half supporting others in the support room. Macy will be awarded 150 cheers for their time. We’re excited to announce the rebranded launch of the Always Here - Support Room 24/7 Project originally launched in 2021 and received positive feedback.  Background and Reasoning Unfortunately, efforts to revive the project in 2022 were not as successful as hoped. We are trying again in a rebranded way with assurance that people get a consistent and reliable experience. As it’s been a couple of years, most of the previous hosts and some leaders are no longer active so we are starting fresh but I will tag previous hosts / leaders just in case they’re willing and interested to join us again with helping out in SR! Having spent a lot of time in the group chat rooms, it’s terrible to see people being ignored due to the sheer volume of messages that sometimes occur, or being faced with complete emptiness as they enter the room.  We can help shift this issue, which by all means is no one’s fault but instead a product of various different factors.  Project Overview and Host Requirements  Members and listeners, teens and adults, can sign up to provide a half-hour or an hour per week (or more) of a listening ear for those in the Support Room 24/7. There’s no script, just natural responses and presence, supportive resources for hosts will be found within the host Sheets dashboard which will be shared within PMs after successfully applying.    On-spot hosting is available too. Whenever you spend at least 30 minutes in SR you can be rewarded and receive recognition for your hard work through peer feedback. Just contact me (@Kieran000) to join the team if you can’t stick to fixed weekly times. ...See more Hey guys, I’m just here to introduce myself as a member of the trauma support leadership team!  I’m Kieran, an Adult-Teen Listener, I have been on the site since January 2019 and have held roles ranging all the way to mentor leader. I’m recently returning from a year long break and am currently a trauma discussion host, global chatroom moderator and group support mentor, alongside several other positions within and external to the group support domain.  I aim to host on Sunday’s at 10am EST over on the teen side, for guided chats about trauma, but also do open chats. I’ve previously been part of the leadership team at the very start of my 7 cups journey, but have returned now.  For privacy, I won’t be mentioning a lot about my personal life but I am a student! I have Complex-PTSD and various other trauma-associated disorders. I’ve experienced sexual, physical and psychological violence and abuse from people I trusted and those I never knew from early childhood to adolescence.  I’ve recovered from a large part of my trauma (or at least figured out how to live despite it!) and now majorly work off-7 Cups to prevent sexual violence, specifically CSA. I also have experience with rehabilitating offenders and working with victim-survivors. On 7 cups, I’m a volunteer and whilst unable to support within crisis situations, I hope my time dedicated to being here is super beneficial for all of you.  I enjoy mountaineering all over the place, as well as listening to music and studying confusing topics - thank you all for reading and it’s great be here with you peeps 😃❤️

...See more Hi everyone, here are the updates relating to the group support community meeting feedback given in our last couple of meetings. * As some of you are aware, on Thursday 19th May at around 3pm ET, I hosted a trial of a short coping technique discussion in the Member Community Room (MCR). This is a wonderful idea to build more self awareness and inclusive structured engagement within the MCR. However, whilst there was a lot of engagement in the discussion, the alternate room that was opened to allow people to continue casual chats if they didn't want to participate in the ongoing discussion was not used and many were having unrelated conversations in the room throughout the discussion. For future instances, continuous unrelated chat must be moved to the alternate room, which will be the "Member Hangout Room" at the time of short discussions. We are working on ways to make this idea work long-term and will update you all when we are ready with moving forward. * An idea raised in the community meeting was to have a separate support room dedicated to dissociative identity disorder (DID). This idea has been tried by myself in the past in the teen side but it did not work long-term. We are working towards a solution and will update again on this as more information is available. We are also currently working on getting more discussions scheduled across the group support rooms. Honestly one of the best listeners I've had on 7cups . Genuinely empathetic and doesn't leave you with the feeling that the answer is obvious and you're deliberately overlooking something. When that happens it doesn't really feel like the person is listening, but none of that here :)
