...See more Hey hey everyone coming across, I hope you're doing well! 💛 I have been considering to write something on this for a while now, something that resonates with all of us I feel, whether we’re pursuing personal goals, professional ambitions, or simply maintaining a healthy lifestyle.  Talking about the ultimate "battlefield" question lol! (And no it is *not* "beaches OR mountains?"😛)  Discipline VS. Motivation The two superrr essential components for achieving success in any aspect of life!  We’ve all experienced the electrifying excitement that comes with starting a new project or goal; could be as big as starting a new online course to staring to do skincare regularly, fueled by many many bursts of motivation. It feels invigorating, to say the least, trying something, implementing/ incorporating something in your life!  However, as time goes on, that initial spark often fizzles out, starts to slow down and eventually, in some cases, goes out completely. (Till another random burst of motivation arrives hehe universe knows when?!!) Have you ever thought to yourself "I don't have the motivation today." about doing a task Or found yourself looking up internet articles about "How to stay motivated?", even in general, in life, mhm? 😮  I certainly have these moments. The former, to be more specific. xD  Motivation can be fleeting, influenced by factors such as our emotions and circumstances. Often times, these factors aren't within our control. It can come and go like the wind.  In contrast, what remains steadfast is discipline, I think.  Summarising a random ish definition of the word from the internet lol- Discipline is the ability to consistently follow a set of rules or routines, even when faced with distractions or obstacles. It requires self-control, commitment, and a strong work ethic. While motivation may provide the initial drive to pursue a goal, discipline is what ultimately leads to success or attaining some goal. As the saying goes, “Motivation wears off, but discipline and consistency stay.” This statement holds profound truth. Discipline is the consistent effort and dedication to continue working towards a goal, even in the absence of motivation. In all honesty, I feel, *specially* in the absence of motivation!  A disciplined person who wakes up at a set time will do so consistently, even if they stayed up late or were busy. In contrast, someone who is only motivated by a New Year’s resolution might wake up early for a few days of their January month but will likely stop once their motivation fades. (I actually think most of us have been there lol)  For example, someone who walks to work every day has already adjusted their morning routine to fit this habit. On the other hand, a person who decides to start walking just because it sounds good may struggle to keep it up, especially if they have to wake up earlier or manage household chores first.  A student who has a disciplined study schedule will stick to it, even when they don’t feel like studying. But someone who only studies when they feel motivated because of exams or another external factor may only do so for a short time before falling back into old habits, or losing sight of their studying! My most favorite example to share for this is- A person who routinely exercises at the gym every week will keep going, regardless of their mood. In contrast, someone who decides to start working out because they feel inspired one day may quit after a week when the initial excitement wears off. (Lol because that has been me for sometime now smh xD) Etc. Etc. These are only a couple of common examples, but, how the smallest habits shape one's entire lifestyle, and how staying consistent at it, no matter how motivated or not one feels, is truly impactful in almost every aspect of our life.  Oh and yes, have to mention that, for everyone who is now habitual of something, or disciplined at something, was once one of the "latter" people too, who had one of these random motivation bursts too.  The only difference is that, they stayed focused, stayed persistent, stayed disciplined and didn't rely on just some motivational boost to do something.  They did it because they knew they do not allow themself the "choice" to say yes or no, for doing what they had to, anyway!  A great quote reminded by @CyclingThroughLife ~ "You will never always be motivated so you must learn to be disciplined." Touching base with some other important aspects!  Consistency is the backbone of success, of literally anything! It’s about the daily commitment to show up, even when you don’t feel like it. Perseverance means pushing through challenges and setbacks, staying committed to our goals despite the challenges we face. Together, consistency and discipline create a powerful synergy that can lead to extraordinary results over time. It always feels difficult when we start, specially at the start; the motivational boosts are important too but complete reliance on just that might not always be fruitful in attaining our timely goals.  My key "hack" behind the same is to repeat my "whys" to self. Our "whys" should always be stronger and more powerful, so that the "how to do" feels only natural to inquire and experiment about.  While motivation can be helpful in getting started, discipline is what keeps you going~ together, they can be even more powerful, I believe! 😮 Remember, it’s okay to stumble and struggle with things despite trying your best at it. Makes us hooman, yes? 💛 What matters most is getting back on track and not being too hard on yourself. Self-compassion remains the key, always!  Honestly, I struggle with these too. With not feeling as motivated always, sometimes lacking consistency, sometimes fiddling with discipline too but, after learning more about the power of habits (major credit for this to this book "Atomic Habits" by James Clear, it contains practical insight and tips into habit building) and importance of building discipline instead of chasing motivation, I can feel a lot of growth and improvement, and it "motivated" (hehe) me to share my thoughts as well as hear yours about this! 💛 I’d really love to hear your thoughts and experiences, so please feel free to share any and all that you want-  🌻 What has worked for you in building discipline and consistency in your own life? 🌻 Have you ever struggled with motivation? How did you overcome those moments?  🌻 What strategies do you use to stay committed to your goals, especially during tough times? I won't specify what threads xD but in general, you always have soooo much depth in your expression. It is also super okay if you're currently not sure about any of it (spoiler alert- I don't think many people are~ most just try to make do with what they can 👀)  Try taking things one step at a time okieee and i hope you won't forget to celebrate the little wins through each day. 💖 The world needs more of your voice, your creativity, and your genuine spirit. To put it simply, *you*!  So keep shining your light, even on the days when it feels dim. Not to sound all cliche lol, but it's a fact, stars do shine the brightesttt when in the darkest hour of the night! ✨ Another fact, no matter how long and dark the night feels, there's always another morning and the sun does always shine. (Good thing you're not in one of the regions of the world where the sun isn't out for longer periods of time lol so I could use this fact 😭 ~ but hey, even there, eventually it does come up 😛)  Precious *you*, while you do deserve to have better people around in your off-cups life also, it’s perfectly fine to lean on your 7 Cups family, you deserve having a safe space where you can be yourself, and feel true to yourself. You are loved, you are important, and you matter more than you may realize.  Life is fleeting, it's daunting, there's challenges and sometimes it can feel like a lot to deal with. However, life is also vast and full of potential for joy, kindness, and love. You haven't yet encountered all the wonderful experiences waiting for you, nor have you met every person who will embrace and love you just as you are. (We don't know if they are here yet, but, wouldn't hurt to leave a little room open for them, mhm?)  I hope you'll keep your heart open to the possibilities that lie ahead. While uncertainties can feel daunting and mentally draining, they also leave room for unexpected joys and connections that can enrich our life in ways we can't yet imagine. Such is the paradoxical nature of the "what if" questions I feel. We often ask ourselves "what if... this goes wrong?" or "what if ... i fail?" but "what if" we ask ourselves "what if ...this goes way better than I couldve ever planned it to be?" Orr "what if...I learn something useful to apply in practice next time?" ~  "what if there's only one slice of pizza left?" ... then sun will share! 😭  ~ depends on what we are asking! xD There are countless beautiful moments yet to unfold, lovely, and nuuuu, I'm not trying to "predict" this~ as much *cool* I'd sound if I did and was right about it and some time after you'd probably think to yourself "okay no, sun wasn't just saying all that for the sake of it, there actually was some truth to it😮" but hoping, manifesting, wanting, rooting~ whichever way you see it hehe, all of it for you, simply because if there's one thing I'm abso-freaking-lutely certain about, it's that YESsssss, big time, major major capital yesss, you deserve it, all the good, all the great, all the best in life, always! 💖 Hoping that you'd continue to hold onto hope. Embrace the journey ahead with curiosity and optimism, for you never know when something amazing might come your way. (Because?) ...See more Hey hey everyone, is it too early to start binging on the cliche netflix christmasyyy rom coms already? I think not!😛 One of my favorite things to do during these last two months of the year is to watch the Christmasyy themed movies, and if it's a cliche rom-com, then it's even better!🥰 I did see a few recently added titles on Netflix (likely on other streaming platforms too) and I think "it's beginning to look like Christmas" lol, but haven't watched any yet, sooooo would love any recommendations, for such movies, themed around Christmas, holidays, festive cheer, rom-com etc all things wholesome and loving!🥰 Any all-time Christmas favorite movies?😮 Feel free to share any recommendations, old as well as new, and for any streaming platforms other than netflix also!💖

(duh!) While traditional festivities often center around enormous feasts with family and friends gathered around a table, we have the unique opportunity to adapt our celebrations for a virtual world, our beloved Cups-Space here. Thanksgiving, however one sees it, is mostly, I feel a joyful occasion that calls for gratitude, connection, and, most importantly, a genuine appreciation for the wonderful people in our lives. As we gather virtually on Cupsland, let’s celebrate the spirit of Thanksgiving by shining a light on one another and making this a joyous celebration of our friendships, support systems, love, kindness and the compassion we share.💛 So this year, let’s celebrate "Cups-giving"~ a delightful riff on Thanksgiving where we celebrate and "refill" each other's cups with positivity and gratitude. And what better way to do that than through words of appreciation? ...See more Hey hey everyone, I hope this post finds you doing amazingly well.💛 I've been wanting to write this post for a while now, and finally can get it posted! 💛The Law of Attraction and the Power of Focus ft. Yellow Car Theory💛 The Law of Attraction says that our thoughts and feelings can shape our reality. This idea suggests that when we focus our energy and attention on something, whether it's a goal, desire, or even a material object, could be anything really, we are more likely to attract those very things into our lives. A simple yet powerful example of this phenomenon is the experience of noticing a yellow car. Once you start looking for a yellow car, you begin to see them everywhere. This isn’t merely coincidence, it’s a reflection of where you direct your attention and energy. (Ever tried this little activity of spotting a yellow car on the streets though? I have and it worked for me hehe, at times not a yellow car but a yellow something and I think it counts💛) The universe responds to our focus, amplifying the things we think about most. When we consciously decide to concentrate on positivity, gratitude, or our goals, we often find opportunities and experiences that align with those thoughts. This is not just limited to material desires, it extends to relationships, career aspirations, personal growth, sooo many different aspects in our life. For instance, if you focus on cultivating gratitude, you might begin to notice more things in your life to appreciate. (This one, I can personally vouch for, as even though I've been someone who notices and appreciates the little things and has gratitude for life and living beans since forever, with the kind of reserved, introverted, "takes time to let people in" personality I have it's the "expression" part that I've found to be lacking in but major improvements on this front and a hearty biiiiig thanks to 7 cups and specially the Peer Appreciation Program [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScsCXyPYjQ4dsfLMh2ZzXC4of1lEutJsSasbkzc6JLDq7b8ow/viewform] that I've not just noticed the great around but also let people know as often I can)  Similarly, if you concentrate on finding new opportunities at work, you may become more aware of openings or collaborations that you previously overlooked or just missed for xyz reasons. The act of focusing can create a ripple effect, allowing us to manifest what we truly desire. (Lol and not in the "witchy-voodoo" way but speaking something into the universe for yourself sooooo sincerely and consistently that the universe has no option but to reward you with it)  However, it’s essential to recognize that this practice requires intention and consistency. It’s not enough to simply wish for something; we must actively engage with our thoughts and feelings, aligning our actions with our aspirations. Yesss, all-talk and no-game doesn't work anywhere. Harsh truth, but important to remember.  By harnessing the power of focus, we can transform our lives, attracting the energy we wish to experience. I feel, this powerful principle emphasizes that our mindset plays a crucial role in shaping our reality. ...See more Helloo everyone coming across, I hope this post finds you doing well.💛 I feel there's a lot of compassion and tips to around managing "long distance relationships" which are difficult, of course, but something I find less-talked-about and something that is deserving of more importance are our long-distance-friendships.  Such is adult-hood at times and life getting all lifey, leading us to move farther from our friend(s), people leave and shift to different places for xyz different reasons, for studies, work, better opportunities, circumstances in life etc and it can be an incredibly daunting experience "leaving people behind" or "being the one who's left behind", a lot of these friendships sort of dwindle away with time and gaps in communication or emotional distance along with the physical distance, but there's just some of these friendships and some of these super special people that we want to hold dearly still and try our best to have them in our life, despite the distance, and soooo say hello to the concept of long distance friendship hehe.  Ooh and even the online friendships can be included here, people we haven't met in-person, but still vibe with and find some solace in their presence over the online-medium.💛 Opening space for some reflection and sharing support with one another.💛 Feel free to answer any and all that you feel comfortable with- 💛 Do you have any long distance friends?
