...See more Hi everyone, I hope you are doing well. I am glad to announce that we are making some changes to the requirements to become Room Supporter! What is a Room Supporter? Room Supporter is one of the key roles in the Group Support Chatroom. This role focuses on providing quality listening and support to community members in the group chat rooms. Room Supporters foster healthy and supportive conversations in the chat rooms to ensure everyone entering the room feels welcomed, empathized, validated, comfortable, and included in the group. This role is suited for both members and listeners because our members are also amazing and supportive listeners in the chat rooms to provide support to each other. How do I become a Room Supporter? Step 1. Requirements to Become a Room Supporter A. For a LISTENER, Check your profile to make sure you meet the following requirements: * No “Newbie” badge i.e. being a listener for 4+ weeks * Have 2+ Group Support Chats** B. It takes 2-3 working days to review the application. On a successful application, you will receive the training invitation to complete it. Step 3: Once you are contacted by a Group Support Leader with the training invitation, please read the guides carefully and complete the training. Step 4: If you passed the training, you will be listed as a “Room Supporter” on the leader board of focused sub-communities. You will be notified 1-1 by the Group Support Leader. Step 5: Visit your focused chat rooms and get to know your community members and start supporting them. Once you are a Room Supporter for at least a month & if you meet the other requirements, you can then apply to become a Chatroom Moderator! It is suitable for both members and listeners who are... * Compassionate, Kind, Welcoming, Non-judgmental, and Open-minded * Willing to make a difference in someone’s day through group listening and support * Willing to collaborate, cooperate and communicate with other team members * Acknowledge and validate their individual needs as well as the needs of the participants in the chatroom Role and Expectations of a Room Supporter * To proactively participate in community building with members, listeners, and moderators * To create a compassionate, supportive, safe environment in the group chat room * To foster healthy & supportive conversations in the chatroom. That’s why we’re introducing game adaptations and a color-coded game classification system to encourage inclusivity. 🔹 Need Adaptations? ♿ If you require adjustments to better enjoy our group games, you can now request them through our accessibility request form [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeSk5BNtj7yjsRDTcPNDlZsr7-4Pf6rFF3qYP0tSb_SRVwTwQ/viewform]. 📋 (clickable) ✅ How does it work? * Fill out the form once—no need to submit it before each session. * The Playground Team Leader [https://www.7cups.com/@Antonio7Cups] will review your request and determine which games need adaptations. * Your personal information will remain private—hosts will only be informed of the necessary adaptations for the games and will take this into account when you join the sessions. * Processing may take up to 72 hours, so please submit your request in advance! You will be contacted once your request has been processed. 🔹 Game Classification System 🎲 To help hosts choose games that are more inclusive, we’ve introduced a color-coded system: 🟢 Highly inclusive games. → Easy-to-join games with minimal effort required. 🟠 Recommended games with Minor Adjustments → Generally accessible but may need small modifications. 🔴 Less inclusive games → Games that might be challenging for some participants and require significant adaptation. 💡 Hosts are encouraged to prioritize highly inclusive games to ensure everyone can join in the fun! However, this does not mean that they cannot choose the less inclusive games, as there are also adaptations for the less inclusive games, thus encouraging game variety. At the end of the day, fun is the most important thing in a game, and not just being the best at them. 🔹 Adaptations for Each Game ♿ To ensure a smooth and inclusive experience for all participants, below are the accessibility adaptations that will be applied during the sessions. These adaptations aim to accommodate different needs and enhance engagement with the games. For a more detailed version of these adaptations, please send me a private message. ...See more Dear 7 Cups Community, We’ve recently received feedback regarding the Playground Room becoming too formal, making some members hesitant to join. This is concerning since the room is intended to be a fun, accessible, and welcoming space for everyone. Additionally, some members have expressed concerns about the inclusivity of games and certain unfortunate situations during sessions. We hear you and are introducing changes to address these concerns while fostering a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. 1. Open Hosting for Everyone 👥 * Anyone in the 7 Cups community can now host sessions in The Playground room [https://www.7cups.com/chat/?c=2_aa1899d41d5d6f11KGCXJHh5P9gVlBDQycVXow]. You don’t need to be part of the Playground Team to lead activities. This will foster creativity and spontaneity in our events. * If you consistently host sessions, we will encourage you to officially join the Playground Team to gain more support and collaboration. Only Playground Team members will be eligible to receive cheers for hosting sessions. ⭐ 2. Respect for Community and Chatroom Guidelines 👨‍⚖️ * Even if you are not part of the Playground Team, it is essential to respect the community and the rules that apply to all rooms. Members that are not part of the Playground Team and want to host a session on The Playground and must ensure that interactions remain positive and aligned with 7 Cups guidelines. 3. Priority for Scheduled Sessions 🗓️ * Sessions scheduled by official Playground Team hosts will have priority over spontaneous sessions. This helps maintain structure and ensures that planned events run smoothly. 4. Room Availability ⌚ * Members that are not part of The Playground Team and want to host on The Playground room and participants can consult the Community Calendar [https://www.7cups.com/forum/communityCalendar.php] to check the availability of the Playground Room for sessions. 5. Promoting Inclusivity in Games ♿ * We recognize that 7 Cups is home to people from all over the world with diverse preferences. Some enjoy high-challenge games, while others prefer simpler, more accessible activities. * To address this, we will encourage hosts to conduct games that are suitable for a broad audience. These will be prioritized to foster greater participation. * However, we will not restrict other types of games, as variety is essential for engagement and enjoyment. In addition, restricting them could also be considered non-inclusive for members who would like to play other types of games. 6. Moderator Presence and Emergency Reporting 🛡️ * Due to previous unfortunate situations in the room, there must always be a mod present when a session takes place. * If the present mod is assisting in other rooms, participants can fill out the Emergency Mod Form [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf6mgwzVCA-TTDzahtCH7mXdmxE5jTakstcQDWoQ_nXk2CfdA/viewform] and send private message to the Community Moderator on duty (check their schedule here [https://www.7cups.com/forum/groupmod/CommunityModeratorsLounge_2143/CommunityModSchedule_318786/]). If you follow and apply these two protocols, a moderator will handle the situation promptly. 7.
