Anyway, I mostly just feel a little concerned about things being ripped away. Like, I started second-guessing if I can really be on the social boards/penpals with a listener account like this, but I feel really anxious about asking about my other account. They also never told me up front that I couldn't come right back, but having it taken away without warning is low-key traumatizing. I have every intention of following the rules that are laid out, but then there's that too... I'm not doing well mentally for a lot of reasons, and I know I should have a member account to be talking about any of that. Granted, I'm interested in keeping the listener one because I want to be a psych geek with the trainings on here and probably do some volunteer listening again. I just don't know the exact right move, and I don't want to ruin things for myself or any of you.

Have you thought about PMing someone? I would just ask. I mean, if they let you have one account, I’m sure they’d be fine with the other one. Maybe Glen or Cheery Mango?

Hmm, overall... I think the biggest surprise for me was in 2 John toward the end where there is an additional commandment to love one another. That may not surprise most people, and is indeed taken as a given, but my perspective is a little different .. I don't see much in there that strikes me as actual love from God, but that one detail seems important and difficult to dispute.
Also had no idea the New testament was so short compared to the Old.

!? I was talking about the single little one-chapter-long book of 2 John. I'm finding something different now, even though it I thought it was the same place I read it the first time. It's talking about walking in God's love instead... But... Basically to shun anyone who brings teaching's other than God's. In that case, I need to find what I was talking about, if it's indeed something different.
I'm not surprised now. And to explain both this un-surprise, and my surprise before... I feel like the bible preaches heavily on why everyone should fear God, and that salvation is conditional in faith. What do you see in 2 John?

Fearing God doesn’t necessarily mean being afraid. It’s partly that because He is all powerful, but it’s also a deep reverence, submission, etc. Think being in subjection to a king.
Salvation is conditional in faith, because you must believe before being saved. You have to believe that a parachute can save you, because that faith makes you put the parachute on.
Does that make sense?

I think your explanation is a good one, and it's also useful. It's important to have reverence and stand for the right things. If we are our own masters then we're all given to selfishness. Personally I want to stand for things like love, equality, and openness. If those are what God is, then I serve God. But what do you mean that other ways lead to destruction?

Hm, if you take accounts of Jesus at face value, his acts seemed to genuinely do a lot of good for people... And in addition to that, his martyrdom was due to corruption before it ever actually had anything to do with his claims. Whoever he is, I kinda want to give him a hug.

Have you read the book of Acts yet? It's amazing! It's kind of like the Odyssey, but it chronicles multiple people's lives when the church was started. Acts is my favorite book in the Bible. The early Christians faced fierce persecution, but they doubled down on worshiping God, telling the world about Him, and doing counter cultural things like treating slaves and women as equals and pooling their resources to serve the poor. The spiritual stuff in Acts is amazing, too. Saul being struck blind by Jesus himself, then doing a complete 180 from his violent ways to joining the very people he was persecuting, for example.

I recall reading most of that. There's a lot to unpack, but that book definitely has some statements toward the correctness of equality.

I need to go clean my bath tub, but there's a sleeping kitty in my lap and I'm afraid of waking my son up with the scrubbing. I had such a hard time getting him to nap. He wanted multiple things at once. He acted hungry, but when I tried feeding him more food he offered his Cheerios and Goldfish to me! Silly kid.
He was hungry, tired, and playful all at once! He wanted me to read to him, then he wanted milk, then he wanted to walk around the house and play, then he wanted to eat... and this repeated from 11 to 2pm.

I hope there's no cause to be worried. I have anxiety about asking though. 😅. I haven't gotten to think about it much because I've had car issues and I'm in the process of getting an electrician to fix up my house.

Mine might be more that I wanted to finish eating so I could go play. 😅 I have sooo much trauma, but I don't think any of it involved mealtimes. Unless you count my mom's cooking experiences. *Bows to the applause and laughter*

It went ok. I actually *do* feel more full, but I still overate a bit. I had to adjust to slowing down. It's harder than I thought. 😅
Lol, it's not that she's a bad cook, it's just... She doesn't know how to spice or season anything. And then some ideas were just bad... Like the steak with cherries and cherry sauce on it... 😂
Yeah, it’s not the easiest. Luckily last night I wasn’t starving, so it was MUCH easier eating slowly. Try eating slightly earlier next time? <3
