Hi! I think that one of the biggest enemies of procrastination is knowing that the more you postpone something you should do, the more of your precious energy has been blocked in it.

From my experience one of the most notorious allies of procrastination is perfectionism. When I think I should do everything perfectly or not even try it all, it's discouraging. Through many years of my education I tried to be "a master of all trades", but this is not the way it works - at least not for a long time...

I know it can be difficult, when you have to face both your own ideas and the expectations of all people around you, but being good at everything seems to be against our human nature.

For me it took, for example, accepting the fact that I am a good photographer - but will never be outstanding, and I can speak some English, but will never do that like an Oxford's graduate 😊

But it's also important to be good to yourself. Your brain is not the same on every wake up, so today you may have more skills for studying literature, and your best day for maths is tomorrow. That is not procrastination, that is, I believe, self-care.

Yeah ..... it's true , trying to be perfect makes it worse ...I think i should do as much as I can without thinking about perfection

@thoughtfulNectarine910 Procrastination can be such a struggle! I’ve found that one of the best ways to fight it is by practicing self-compassion. Sometimes when I procrastinate, I’m too hard on myself, which just makes it worse. Instead, I try to acknowledge that it’s okay to feel unmotivated sometimes and gently remind myself that I can get back on track. Being kind to myself helps reduce that sense of guilt that often comes with procrastination.💖

Another tip I use is breaking tasks down into smaller, more manageable steps. When a task feels huge, it’s easy to avoid it. But when I break it into smaller parts, it feels a lot less overwhelming, and I can actually get started. Also, I find that creating a calming environment really helps me focus. Simple things like turning off distractions (like social media) or putting on calming music can help my brain settle into the task at hand. That's how I cope with procrastination. I hope these helps.💛

Prioritize what is most important, then, make a plan to complete it. You can plan it by the hour, or a list of things you need to get done for the day. Remove all things that will distract you, or remove yourself from the area with distractions you cannot avoid (for example, if it's noisy at home, maybe go to the library).

I remember when I studied for a test, that was happening like a month away. I could've studied one chapter/category per week. But if I procrastinated and left the studying one week prior, then, all the cramming will only result in not enough sleep, feeling tired, and overwhelmed. Which will result in getting a bad grade on the test. So, why put myself through all that, when I could've started studying much earlier, and feel prepared for the test with more confidence?

Yeah..... that's exactly happened with me in test, like 1st procrastinating then reading just before test , getting bad marks and getting demotivated. So this time I'm really trying to do better from before

I myself was addicted to cdramas for months...and I was so hooked up that since I woke up in the morning till I slept at night ,major portion went to watching dramas .I had stopped studying completely..but then recently a friend told me that I was just trying to escape the reality.

This hit me hard and I realized that I'm actually doing nothing but escaping reality which makes matters worse...and that is all what procrastination is-escaping the reality for the time being and realising later on that all the work we were supposed to do is still piled up and has increased by a significant amount instead.

So yea when you actually get this realisation...I already have gotten a step better

Now you can just plan and break ur goals into small chunks and just start

These quotes have helped me a lot...so thought of sharing🙃🫶

If you want to study together or wanna talk about anything feel free to text me as I'm going through the same phase of getting out of this rut✨💙

Not get mad at myself about it. That just makes it worse.

Make It Enjoyable

Pair unpleasant tasks with something enjoyable (e.g., listen to music while cleaning, work in a cozy café).
