The fear of losing it all

catastrophobia is defined as the fear of losing it all. It can be the fear of losing loved ones, possessions and sense of self. We all have fears of losing something I am not just talking about misplaced car keys, cell phones etc it is a broader picture.
In the fear of losing precious things and people we will do anything possible not to lose them. Castastrophobia can make use anixous, depressed jittery and fearful. How do we not fear things in our lives.

@pamharley003 This is a really interesting read and thank you for sharing this information on catastrophobia and ways to overcome fear of not being in control.
How can being in fear of something make you feel? Such a good question! It can make one feel helpless, and even feel an increase in breathing and heart rate.
What are some ways you calm down when in fear? It's really difficult to think clearly when I'm facing something I fear. One way I calm down when in fear is by practicing mindfulness meditation and grounding techniques. I try not to judge my thoughts and emotions at all, but rather be present and aware of what I'm feeling and thinking at the moment. Another way I calm down when in fear is being aware that I cannot control everything. I try to let go of what I cannot control.

Usually, supportive self-talk and deep breathing exercises help me to calm fear. Being in fear can put my mind in overdrive, too many possible situations might go through my head.
