Daily Prayers, Intentions, & Beams!

...See more I often reflect on what makes our community so extraordinary. It’s the way we listen, the way we relate, the way we care for one another, and accept one another where we’re at, struggles and all. We are connected because we share the human experience. We find collective strength in one another and draw on that to not just survive, but thrive. Together, we're building a community where healing is possible, growth is inevitable, and hope is attainable. This interconnectedness is how we combat loneliness and create ripples of positive change, one connection, one conversation, one act of kindness at a time. Inspired by this shared connection and the incredible strength we find in one another, I have created this space for us to offer and receive support, pray for one anothers, set intentions for our community, and send positive energy to those in need. Think of this as our daily practice of collective care. Whether you have a specific prayer request for support or want to share a positive affirmation, this is the place to do it.  Whether you're going through a personal crisis, facing health concerns, or other difficulties, you can ask for an empathetic ear, offer prayers, or just comforting words. If you'd like a specific kind of support, please do mention it with your share. You can say as much or as little as you like about your situation. (It can be as simple as "please pray for x", "please send me strength/blessings/vibes", "please keep me in your thoughts", "send beams" [https://www.7cups.com/forum/siteupdates/GlensNookCommunity_547/BEAMS_202686/] etc!) Or you can set intentions for your day. (ex. I intend to be more mindful of my own emotional needs and practice self-care.) If you have things that you want us to pray for and think about and send positive energy your way, let us know. (The community team is going to be engaged and following this closely in a more direct way, too. Many of you, like Glen, pray for our community daily or keep us in your thoughts!) This is an invitation for us to surface and build on these activities to strengthen our shining city and further lift one another up.  Ready? Share below!

Forum Moderation Guidelines for Religion & Spirituality
by CheeryMango
Last post
September 22nd, 2023
...See more Hello everyone! I would like to take a moment to introduce some additional forum moderation guidelines that we will be implementing to ensure that this community remains a respectful, constructive, and inclusive space for all members. Note: All forum moderation will be handled by the forum moderators or community leaders. 1. Respectful Dialogue: Encourage respectful and open dialogue that allows members to express their feelings and thoughts about religion without targeting specific religious groups. Ensure that discussions maintain a courteous and tolerant tone. 2. Avoid Forced Beliefs: Remove any posts that attempt to impose personal religious beliefs on others or pressure individuals to adopt a particular faith. Our community respects diverse perspectives and choices. 3. No Shaming or Discrimination: Prohibit any posts that involve shaming, discrimination, or derogatory language towards individuals, religious groups, or spiritual beliefs. Promote an inclusive and accepting environment. 4. Focus on Personal Experiences: Encourage members to share their personal experiences and insights related to spirituality and religion, emphasizing the impact on their lives rather than making sweeping judgments or condemnations. Moderate with Sensitivity: Exercise moderation with a sensitive and understanding approach. When removing posts, provide a clear explanation to the member and offer guidance on how they can rephrase or refocus their discussion in a more constructive manner. 5. Feedback and Appeals: Allow members to provide feedback on moderation decisions through the forum@7cups.com email or messaging the admin, @CheeryMango directly for those who believe their posts were unjustly removed. 6. Consistency: Maintain consistency in applying these guidelines to all posts and members, regardless of their religious or spiritual background. Ensure fairness in moderation. 7. Community Building: Lastly, focus on creating a positive and supportive atmosphere within the religious and spiritual community, where members can freely explore and discuss their beliefs and feelings without fear of judgment or disrespect. ------------------------- tagging the community taglist to be updated: @MeaningfulSilence @AffyAvo @Sunisshiningandsoareyou @tommy @theriverissinging @@Adamw12 @adripika @amiablePeace77 @Armon23 @beck1 @blindCupcake8608 @Carolincares7 @Chevy81 @courageousRiver589 @DivineLove04 @DragonView2 @easyDime4319 @egrima729 @goodAcres5039 @GoodEar1972 @Helgafy @HisLivingWaters @IamAubrey23 @ivoryDog4942 @Jaeteuk @Jenna @LoveMyMoonflowers @loyalApricot1375 @lyricalAngel70 @magnificentNutella @Mahad2804 @MalindaBelle @MeaningfulSilence @Michele2 @officialanonymous @ovowoody @passionateSea1909 @persistentFriend274 @philosophical2741 @pineapplepeanut @PoliteOcean @politePeach9642 @rhodawoolf @RogueOne1983 @SammiSweetheart30 @soulsings @stallion3 @SunShineAlwaysGrateful @Swordpsalm @ThatChristLover @TheJenInBlack @tommy @trueconfidant123 @Tulipsmile @Tyedyedbutterfly65 @yaswecan7

How to know if you are on the right path towards liberation?

...See more When you reach to the advanced level of understanding, the illusions begin to fall. You can see through the truth of things, nature of existence, the lies that once seemed true. You begin to understand things in a way you have never before. You are no longer bound. Acceptance starts to be your preference. You start to forgive. You start to detach from material things, including your body and your mind.

...See more I would not be here right now if it were not for religion. Many people in my country, the United States of America, hate religion. They say all kinds of bad things and generalize all religious people as being the same. If they disbelieve in one religion, they assume all religions are wrong, because many people here have a flawed understanding of religion, and often say things like "all religions are the same." The truth is, there are a myriad of different beliefs, even a wide array of interpretations and sects within the main, major world religions like Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Buddhism. I come from a very poor and underprivileged community in Eastern North America that suffers from a lot of generational trauma. We're underrepresented in politics and the media, and often when we are mentioned, it is with negative connotations and age-old stereotypes. Most people have never even heard of us. We are called the Qarsherskiyan people, and that is pronounced like "Car-Shear-Ski-Inn" like driving a car to ski down a mountain and shear a sheep before coming to rest in a little Inn hotel. Big word, I know, but it's relevant to my story I'm sharing to benefit others with this experience. Now, the Qarsherskiyans are a triracial group, similar to the Moors Of Delaware and the Melungeons. We have been mistreated by some racist individuals throughout history and many of us suffer from an inferiority complex because of this. We may try to blend in, acting and talking like our White neighbors and adopting their culture. Most of them are cool, but a loud minority of them can be cruel at best. I grew up ashamed of myself, and who I am. I am from an Aliyite family. We follow the Aliyite Tariqa, a small Sufi order that is prevalent among many Muslim Americans in Appalachia and the Tidewaters Region. People have spit at me and called me less than human, and for a while, I believed them. I've always been bullied and had no friends who understood me and cared for me. It was so bad, being bullied in school, I had tried to do things nobody should ever do to themselves several times and my parents had to check me into the hospital so I could be watched. When I turned 21, because I wouldn't drink alcohol, many of my friends would call me a "sissy" and mock me. I've always felt excluded, unwanted by society, made to feel like an outcast who doesn't belong in my own country, even despite the Native American in my mixed race blood. People tell me that I cannot coexist with what they percieve to be the one and only American culture. But I turned to God for help, despite being born into a lifestyle which determined I'd suffer this ill fate. My depression has, at times, been pretty awful, but when I turn to God, He listens to me. He has answered my prayers. People would leave me alone and stop picking on me when I was in college after I started making Du'a again. Du'a is a type of prayer to Allah, which means "God" in Arabic, by the way. I believe in God because He helps me improve my life and He made my enemies back down. I've seen miracles I cannot explain, with my own eyes! For those of you reading this who don't believe in God, please don't mock religious people, and be respectful of all beliefs. You never know who important religion is to people. It can be a good thing and improve people's lives. Kunta-Haji is a Sufi saint from Chechnya who lived during the 1800s. He is important to Qadri and Aliyite Sufi Muslims. He taught passive resistance and non-violent civil disobedience against Tsarist Russia, which expanded into the North Caucasus Mountains and subjected Indigenous Caucasian tribes to persecution in their own lands. Because of his interpretation of Islam, his followers resisted imperialism and did it in a manner that didn't provoke the Russian Empire to try to erase them, as happened to the Circassians, another Muslim Caucasian group that still feels the effects of the genocide in their past. Religion is good. It's individual people who are bad. Spread love, not hate.

...See more The monastery, perched on a craggy outcrop that clawed at the sky, was a place of stark silence. Two disciples, Kaelen and Rhys, moved through its stone corridors like shadows, their footsteps muffled by years of quiet observation. Their lives were a cycle of chores: sweeping courtyards, tending the sparse vegetable garden, fetching water from the icy spring. Their true labor, however, was the silent study of the head monk, a man whose serenity was a constant, unsettling enigma. He was a still point in a turning world. Rain lashed the monastery walls, wind howled through the mountain passes, and the daily squabbles of the other monks echoed through the halls, but the head monk remained untouched. His face, etched with the lines of time, held an almost unnerving calm. It wasn't the placidity of sleep, but the quiet intensity of a flame burning steadily in a vacuum. He was, as Kaelen often whispered, "a rock against the tide." This very stillness bred a peculiar anxiety in his disciples. They dissected his every gesture, every glance, searching for the secret to his unshakeable composure. They yearned for a single word, a scrap of insight, that would illuminate the path to such inner peace. But the monk remained silent, a living koan, his presence a constant, unanswered question. Then, the inevitable happened. A fever gripped the old monk, a relentless fire that withered his strength and dimmed his eyes. The monastery held its breath, a collective dread settling over its inhabitants. Kaelen and Rhys, sensing the approaching end, finally dared to approach the monk's humble cottage. He lay on his simple cot, his breath shallow and ragged. Yet, even in his weakened state, his eyes held that familiar, unsettling clarity. "Sage," Kaelen began, his voice trembling slightly, "for years we have observed you, seeking the wisdom you possess. Now, as you prepare to leave us, we beg you: share with us the essence of what you have learned." Rhys, his hands clasped tightly, nodded in agreement. "Please, master. What is the key to your peace?" The monk looked at them, a faint smile playing on his lips. Then, a dry, rasping chuckle escaped his throat. "Wisdom?" he croaked, his eyes twinkling with an almost mischievous light. "What wisdom?" The words hung in the air, a final, bewildering riddle. Before Kaelen and Rhys could react, the monk's eyes closed, and his breath ceased. They stood there, stunned, the silence in the cottage deepening, becoming a heavy, tangible thing. "What wisdom?" The phrase echoed in their minds, a cruel jest, or perhaps, the ultimate truth. Had they spent years chasing a phantom, a mirage of enlightenment? Or had the monk, in his final moment, revealed the most profound lesson of all: that wisdom was not a thing to be acquired, but a state of being, a quiet acceptance of the moment, stripped bare of all illusions. He had simply been. He had simply existed. And that, perhaps, was all there was.
