by MindfulJourney22
Last post
December 2nd, 2024
...See more Greetings everyone! We invite you to take part in the Gratitude Circle, a mindful activity designed to foster appreciation and strengthen connections within our community. This is a simple yet meaningful way to acknowledge and celebrate the positive impact others have made in our lives. By sharing gratitude and appreciation, we create a supportive and uplifting environment for all. We encourage everyone to participate and spread kindness by taking a moment to express what you’re thankful for. Let’s come together and make this space one of positivity and connection! 1. Take a few moments to quiet your mind and reflect on the people in this community who have made a positive impact on you. It could be through their kind words, helpful Suggestions, or thoughtful actions. 2.  In this thread, post a short message of gratitude. Tag the person you're appreciating and explain what you’re thankful for. It could be something they’ve done recently or something they've always done that made a difference. 3. When you share your appreciation, make sure to tag a different person each time you post. This ensures that everyone has the chance to feel valued. 4.  After posting, take a moment to breathe deeply and send positive thoughts or intentions to the person you just thanked. ------------------------- Current taglist as of November 17,  2024 To add or remove yourself from the taglist please click  [https://www.7cups.com/forum/mindfulness/Announcements_2413/MindfulnessAutomatedTaglist_320002/?post=3438021]here [https://www.7cups.com/forum/mindfulness/Announcements_2413/MindfulnessAutomatedTaglist_320002/?post=3438021] @4551SP @adventurousBranch3786 @Admirablerainbow2825 @adventurousCat7477 @Agent22 @alexandralee @AllAboutThePeace11 @amiablePeace77@asherb281 @avistaco @cal1860 @CaringSub @CatHanderOutNoah @Clio9876 @communicativeJet616 @dapperBeach8823 @daydreammemories @DragonspanAnge @EchoOrAsh @etherealize @Falcon05 @fearlessMaple308 @FloraBelle @ForestZen @frankPark1546 @GentleHealingInitiative @Goldenfox2009 @greenScarf6235 @hardworkingBeechwood6063 @healingsoul4892 @iloveyouxx @imprettysleepy @indigoBeechwood597 @infiniteforever12 @InsightfulPhoenix @Invisibility101 @JarofSeeds627 @jaywalkk @Kickan75 @kindRiver6 @kivesh @Linux2022 @Littlejoy11 @livinggadget @MindfulJourney22 @mytwistedsoul @nessapressure05 @NurseJose @NotAllHere713 @onwardforevenmore @pamharley003 @PeacefulBeach3454 @peacefulDovex @PopPunkPrincess17 @Rainboho @rebeccastgo @sincereGrapefruit83  @sky2Ocean20 @Snowy00 @spongbobishappy @sunshineBeauty5741 @Swordpsalm @tallZebra8032 @Tinywhisper11 @toughApricot223 @warmMemory6263 @willingBranch634 @VKlistening @yellowPineapple3652 @yzzil @Zeraphim

The fear of losing it all

...See more Check in for March 7th to March 12th 2025 catastrophobia is defined as the fear of losing it all. It can be the fear of losing loved ones, possessions and sense of self. We all have fears of losing something I am not just talking about misplaced car keys, cell phones etc it is a broader picture. In the fear of losing precious things and people we will do anything possible not to lose them. Castastrophobia can make use anixous, depressed jittery and fearful. How do we not fear things in our lives.  What are some ways you calm down when in fear ? How can being in fear of something make you feel? @4551SP @Admirablerainbow2825 @adventurousBranch3786 @adventurousCat7477 @Agent22 @alexandralee @AllAboutThePeace11 @amiablePeace77 @asherb281 @avistaco @Beechie @cal1860 @CaringSub @CatHanderOutNoah @Clio9876 @communicativeJet616 @dapperBeach8823 @daydreammemories @EchoOrAsh @ElenaDeMonaco @etherealize @Falcon05 @FloraBelle @ForestZen @frankPark1546 @GentleHealingInitiative @Goldenfox2009 @greenScarf6235 @iloveyouxx @imprettysleepy @indigoBeechwood597 @infiniteforever12 @InsightfulPhoenix @Invisibility101 @Izila @JarofSeeds627 @jaywalkk @Kait @Kickan75 @kindRiver6 @kivesh @Littlejoy11 @livinggadget @Luciddreamsicle @MindfulJourney22 @mytwistedsoul @nessdamess @NotAllHere713 @onwardforevenmore @pamharley003 @PeacefulBeach3454 @peacefulDovex @PopPunkPrincess17 @Rainboho @rebeccastgo @sincereGrapefruit83 @sky2Ocean20 @Snowy00 @sociableKiwi3027 @SparklesFly @sunshineBeauty5741 @Swordpsalm @tallZebra8032 @Tinywhisper11 @toughApricot223 @VKlistening @warmMemory6263 @weirdofr @yellowPineapple3652 @YesWayJose @yzzil @Zeraphim

Social media toxic influence on society
by okeyyyy
Last post
...See more I asked chatgpt the following question: why do dating apps are trash and how did the social media degraded society so much to the point of becoming like a big brother fake nonsense? (chatgpt answer) Dating apps are trash because they turn human relationships into a gamified, shallow experience where people swipe based on looks, bios are marketing pitches, and algorithms manipulate engagement to keep users hooked instead of actually helping them find someone. They push instant gratification, making real connections harder, while also devaluing individuals by offering endless choices, leading to paradox of choice—no one commits because they think something better is one swipe away. Social media degraded society by promoting inauthenticity, surveillance culture, and narcissism. It rewards performative behavior over real connection, making people obsessed with how they appear rather than who they are. Every action is tracked, monetized, and manipulated to keep users dopamine-addicted zombies, constantly comparing themselves to curated, fake realities. Platforms also create mob mentality, where people are pressured to conform or be "canceled," making it feel like we're living in a digital Big Brother state, where every word and action is scrutinized. Everything became a marketplace—even friendships and dating—where clout, status, and engagement metrics dictate social value. Real-life interaction is dying because of it. (my conclusion) Although you can have the same elements without social media, I think social media just amplifies to 10.000 % to 100.000 % and more negative traits of people, though i believe the isolation can play havoc in our minds, and the biggest one of stop being an individual and being too dependent on others it can be one of the big changes.

...See more You said: humans tend to be hyper selfish and lying manipulators disgusting people who pretend to care and backstab you, how can someone be relaxed when being among them? ChatGPT said: It’s hard to relax when trust is shaken, but not everyone operates with bad intentions. Building healthy boundaries and surrounding yourself with people who genuinely value and respect you can help reduce that stress. Focus on those who show consistent kindness, and try not to let the actions of a few overshadow the good in others. Ultimately, staying grounded in your own values and practicing self-care are key to finding peace, even in a challenging environment. You said: how do you do this when I had been dealing with constant neurosis cause of abusive parents? and it feels like people will do whatever for money, and sometimes your family values feels all wrong, using big words for something , saying one thing to appear nice or deceive you and doing other to take advantage of you, so this has made me get too much in my head i think. ChatGPT said: I'm really sorry you've had to deal with such heavy experiences—it’s deeply painful when the people who are supposed to protect and nurture you instead cause harm. Growing up with abusive parents can lead to a constant state of vigilance, mistrust, and overthinking, especially when it feels like the world operates on selfishness. It makes sense that this has you in your head a lot—it's a survival mechanism, trying to anticipate and guard against harm. But staying in that space too long can drain your energy and make it harder to heal or connect. Here are some steps that might help you begin shifting out of this cycle:     Validate Your Feelings: It’s okay to feel what you’re feeling. Your experiences are real, and acknowledging them is the first step to processing the pain and mistrust. You don’t have to rush past this.     Seek Safe Spaces: Surround yourself with people who consistently act with kindness and integrity. Even one or two people like this can remind you that not everyone is out to harm or manipulate. Look for those who align actions with words.     Start Small with Trust: If trusting others feels too big, start with tiny steps—like sharing a little and observing how someone responds. Building trust is gradual and doesn’t need to be all-or-nothing.     Therapeutic Help: A trauma-informed therapist could be transformative in helping you unpack the damage from abusive relationships and regain confidence in yourself and others.     Redefine Your Values: If family values feel hollow or wrong, create your own. What do you believe in? What kind of life and relationships do you want? Start acting according to your values rather than what you were taught.     Practice Mindfulness: Overthinking is exhausting. Practices like mindfulness meditation or even journaling can help you step back from racing thoughts and focus on the present moment.     Focus on Self-Compassion: Talk to yourself kindly. If you wouldn't blame a friend for feeling the way you do, don’t blame yourself either. You’re doing your best in a hard situation. It’s okay if you don’t trust easily right now—it’s part of healing. But as you grow stronger and create a life aligned with your values, you may find it easier to let go of some of the fear and reconnect with your own power. Does any of this resonate with where you’re at?

The Mindfulness Center welcomes you to a place where it is okay to just be, and not worry about 100 things. You can observe nature or your own room, follow your breath going in and out, or be aware of your feet touching the sidewalk as you head home. It is all mindfulness.

There are no hard and fast rules on how to be mindful, and you do not have to do anything a certain way. There are guidelines to help us stay on the path of mindfulness, like in the Daily Checkins, where team members share insights and tips about mindfulness. You can join in the discussions there, or in any of the forum threads.

You will also find videos in the resource center that talk about what is mindfulness and guide us on a journey to having an actual experience right now of what it feels like to be free of our “thought train”, as we let ourselves go and relax a bit. If all of this sounds good, join us for hosted sessions in which you can discuss and experience mindfulness first hand.

Stop and breath. Respect yourself and have compassion for what you are going through.

Notice what is happening around you that your senses are telling you. Feel the breath go in and go out.

Feel good about yourself. Life has brought you on a journey up to here. That is reason to celebrate and appreciate all that life offers. And listen and feel the breath!
